This subject was introduced up to Intermediate level in the year 1946.Since its inception to the present day, with its pioneering efforts in teaching and research in the subject; it has earned recognition as one of the most leading departments of teaching Geography up to Postgraduate. The Department has earned a reputed name throughout Maharashtra for being the first to start the M.Phil course in the region.
